The Best Curly Hair Products

When it comes to curly hair, you can’t just get any product. Curly hair is much drier and often frizzier than any other type of hair and needs the right moisturizing products. Here are some great products to give a try if you have dry curly hair and want your curls to look their best!

These are the best curly hair products that will make the most beautiful curls.  You can’t get great curls without using the right products.

Shampoos

Here are my top picks for the best shampoos for curly hair. Be sure not to shampoo more than 3 times a week if you can help it to get the most moisturized hair. Shampoo strips your hair of it’s natural oils which are necessary to have the best and softest curls possible. The following products are great that are also affordable.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo, Curl & Shine

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls & Waves Shampoo

These are both great shampoos that are both moisturizing and will help encourage your curl power.  If you have extra frizzy hair, I suggest trying either of these two products. Shampoos that encourage curls are naturally more gentle on your hair and are harder to overdo.

Dove Therapy Frizz Control Therapy Shampoo, For Rebellious, Unmanageable Hair
TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock, Curly Hair Shampoo

Conditioners

Here are my favorite daily conditioners.  A daily conditioner should be thick and the most moisturizing possible.  These are made especially for dry hair.  If you have dry hair, you need moisture, and if you have naturally curly hair that is also dry, moisture is that much more important.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner, Dry or Damaged Hair
Sunsilk Captivating Curls De-Frizz Conditioner
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner

Deep Conditioners

Every once and a while you will need a good deep conditioner.  Here are my top choices.  A deep conditioner will penetrate deep inside each strand of hair which will make it smoother and softer as well as stronger.  Moisturize it from deep within at least once a month.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Pure Strength Conditioning Treatment

Treatments

A deep treatment can be used in place of a deep conditioner for extra moisturizing.  A deep treatment will also add a lot more strength to your hair.  Some curls can become very delicate and even worse if it is dry and brittle.  A deep treatment will give it the strength, moisture, and body it needs.

Hamadi Shea Hair Mask, Moisturizing Treatment

Leave-in Conditioner

A leave-in conditioner is an absolute must for curly hair.  Garnier is my favorite that I always use. A leave-in conditioner will allow your hair to get the moisture it needs throughout the day.

Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream, Sleek & Shine
Aussie Sydney Smooth Heat Protector + Leave-In Conditioner Spray

Gel

These are some of my favorite gels that always keep my curls well defined and in place. They are designed for curly hair, so they won’t leave your hair stiff and sticky.  They add just enough hold to keep your hair in curls, but not so much that you get crunchy, stiff curls.  It leaves the bounce you love.

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel
TIGI Catwalk Frisky Scrunching Gel
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Clearly Defined Style Holding Gel

Mousse

Mousse is a nice alternative to gel that may help give you volume if that’s what you need.  I often prefer mouse because it tends to curl a little more and keep them very soft, smooth, and bouncy.

Curl.Life Defining System Body-Shaping Foam
Garnier Fructis Style Curl Construct Mousse, Extra Strong
Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse

In my own experience and opinion, these are the best curly hair products out there.  They will get you the best curls.  Experiment and see what works for you.
